DC SPD (Surge Protective Device), 2P, < = 600VDC/ 1000VDC

A surge protector (or spike suppressor, surge suppressor, surge shunt, surge protection device (SPD), or transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS)) is an appliance or device designed to protect electrical equipment from voltage spikes in AC circuits.Surge protectors are also widely used in direct current photovoltaic (PV) systems where the DC voltage is less than or equal to 1500VDC.When a circuit or communication line suddenly generates a surge current or voltage due to external interference, a surge protector can conduct and avoid the current in a very short period of time, thus preventing the surge from causing damage to other equipment in the circuit.It is a Class II device designed to protect against transient overvoltages caused by fast switching operations or indirect lightning strikes.It discharges induced voltage surges (8/20 μs) and is suitable for use as a second level of protection in power distribution boards fitted with a Class 1 protector, or as a first level of protection in applications that are not directly exposed to lightning strikes and do not have an external lightning protection system.The EKU5-T2-40PV Surge Protectors are DC Surge Protectors designed specifically for use with photovoltaic power supply systems.These devices must be installed in parallel on the DC grid to be protected and provide common mode and different mode protection.It is recommended that they be installed at both ends of the DC power line (solar panel side and inverter/converter side), especially if the line path is long.

- Rated voltage 600VDC/ 1000VDC;

- Applications:

DC Surge Protection Devices (DC SPDs) include solar power systems to protect photovoltaic (PV) panels and inverters from overvoltage; electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to protect charging modules; and energy storage systems to ensure battery safety. They are also used in telecom systems to protect base stations and data centres, as well as in railway and metro systems to ensure the safety of DC-powered traction and signalling equipment. In addition, DC SPDs are critical for LED lighting systems, industrial automation, and other DC-powered equipment, providing reliable protection against voltage spikes to ensure system longevity and stability.
